2013 Raiders Schedule Announced

The Raiders will open their 2013 regular season on the road against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m., the NFL announced April 18. Oakland's first home game is Sunday, Sept. 15, against the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1:25 p.m.

The Raiders have only one prime-time game — against the host Denver Broncos — on Monday, Sept. 23 at 5:40 p.m. on ESPN.

Oakland plays on Thanksgiving Day against the host Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m. on CBS, the teams' second Turkey Day match-up in four years. The Cowboys beat the visiting Raiders 24-7 on Thanksgiving on Nov. 26, 2009.

Other notes from the Raiders’ 2013 schedule:

The Raiders face only four 2012 playoff teams — Denver (twice), Houston, Indianapolis and Washington.

The Raiders' home opponents are Jacksonville (Sept. 15), Washington (Sept. 29), San Diego (Oct. 6), Pittsburgh (Oct. 27), Philadelphia (Nov. 3), Tennessee (Nov. 24), Kansas City (Dec. 15) and Denver (Dec. 29).

The Raiders' road opponents are Indianapolis (Sept. 8), Denver (Sept. 23), Kansas City (Oct. 13), New York Giants (Nov. 10), Houston (Nov. 17), Dallas (Nov. 28), New York Jets (Dec. 8) and San Diego (Dec. 22).

The Raiders open the season on the road for the third time in four years (2010, 2011 and 2013).

Oakland plays three home games in the season's first five weeks but has four road games from Week 10 to Week 14.

The Raiders’ three trips to the Eastern Time Zone are against Indianapolis in Week 1, against the Giants in Week 10 and against the Jets in Week 14. Oakland dropped all five of its games in the ETZ in 2012. In those games, the Raiders were outscored by a whopping 164-69.

The Raiders host the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 24, Tennessee's first game in Oakland since the 2004 season.

The Raiders rank 29th in 2013 NFL Strength of Schedule. Oakland's opponents had a 120-136 win-loss record in 2012. By comparison, the Raiders were tied for 18th in 2012 NFL Strength of Schedule. Their opponents went 127-129 in the 2011 season. Oakland faced six 2011 playoff teams during its 2012 season.

The Raiders have their bye in Week 7, two weeks later than their 2012 bye.
