Raiders cornerback Fabian Washington reportedly was charged with domestic battery on Feb. 20, 2008 in Florida, according to published reports.
Washington, 24, was arrested at the home he shares with his girlfriend in Lakeview Ranch, Fla., Manatee County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Dave Bristow told MediaNews. The arrest reportedly stemmed from an argument between Washington and his girlfriend. Washington denied there was a physical altercation with his girlfriend, according to the arrest report.
Washington reportedly was released on his own recognizance. His arraignment is scheduled for March 25.
If convicted of the misdeamonr, Washington could spend "less than a year in jail," Bristow said, Most likely, Bristol said, Washington will be sentenced to probabation because of his lack of a criminal record.
