49ers 21, Raiders 13

FLASH RECAP:
Tim Rattay throws two touchdown passes in the third quarter to rally San Francisco to a victory over visiting Oakland in their 2005 exhibition season opener before an announced crowd of 61,446 at Monster Park on Aug. 13, 2005.

The 49ers score three touchdowns in the opening 5:42 of the second half to erase a 6-0 deficit. The Raiders' Sebastian Janikowski kicks field goals of 20 and 44 yards in the first half.

Rattay throws a 36-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Lloyd 77 seconds into the third quarter. The 49ers increase their lead to 14-6 when cornerback Derrick Johnson returns a Marques Tuiasosopo interception 87 yards for a TD. On the ensuing kickoff, San Francisco's Fred Amey recovers LaShaun Ward's fumble at the Oakland 22. Two plays later, Rattay throws a 13-yard scoring pass to Arnaz Battle, giving the 49ers a 21-6 advantage.

Quarterback Alex Smith, the top pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, has an inauspiciuous 49ers debut. The former Utah star completes 3 of 9 passes for only 25 yards with no interceptions.

Kerry Collins is 8-of-12 passing for 68 yards in Oakland's opening two possessions in the first quarter.

San Francisco
QB Tim Rattay -- Completes 6 of 8 passes for 106 yards and two TDs.
CB Derrick Johnson -- Returns a Marques Tuiasosopo interception 87 yards for a touchdown to give the 49ers a 14-6 lead.
WR Brandon Lloyd -- Catches passes from Tim Rattay for 30 and 36 yards on the 49ers' go-ahead TD drive early in the third quarter.

Oakland
WR Johnnie Morant -- Contributes four catches for 76 yards.
RB LaMont Jordan -- Rushes for 12 yards on 4 carries and catches 4 passes for 23 yards.
QB Andrew Walter -- Throws a 9-yard TD pass to Randal Williams early in the fourth quarter.

KEY STAT:
The 49ers score 21 points in the opening 5:42 of the second half.

BY THE NUMBERS:
1: Receptions for 11 yards for Randy Moss in his Raiders debut.
3: Completions in 9 passing attempts for 25 yards for 49ers QB Alex Smith.
203: Oakland total yards in the first half compared to only 39 yards for San Francisco.

DID YOU KNOW?:
The 49ers win their first game in regulation since Dec. 7, 2003, when they beat the Arizona Cardinals 10-7. San Francisco's three wins in 23 games since then, including exhibitions, were all in overtime.


With the loss, the Raiders are 15-18 against the 49ers in their exhibition series, which started in 1967. Oakland is 6-4 against San Francisco in regular-season games.
