Raiders 59, Broncos 14

FLASH RECAP:
Led by running back Darren McFadden's four touchdowns, Oakland (3-4) sets a single-game franchise record for points in a pummeling of arch rival Denver (2-5) at Invesco Field at Mile High on Oct. 24, 2010.

McFadden, who missed the previous two games because of a hamstring injury, has 196 combined yards — 165 rushing yards and three touchdowns and 31 receiving yards on two catches and a TD. The former Arkansas All-America scores on runs of 4, 4 and 57 yards and also reaches the end zone on a 19-yard reception.

The previous Raiders franchise record for points was 52, most recently against Tennessee in 2002.

The inept Broncos equal a single-game franchise record for points allowed. Denver lost 59-7 to Kansas City in their 1963 opener.

"I expected this to be a street fight," Raiders coach Tom Cable tells reporters after Oakland's third straight win against the Broncos in Denver. "It started out like that and we just made sure it didn't go any further."

Said Broncos wide receiver Jabar Gaffney: “It’s total shock. All week if you would told me that we’d come out here and get beat 59-14, I mean, I’d have just laughed at you.”

Oakland builds a 14-0 lead on touchdowns eight seconds apart less than five minutes into the game. After Jason Campbell's 43-yard touchdown pass to tight end Zach Miller opens the scoring, cornerback Chris Johnson returns a Kyle Orton interception 30 yards for a touchdown on Denver's first play following the kickoff.

The Raiders lead 24-0 after one quarter and 38-0 22 minutes into the game before Orton throws a 7-yard TD pass to Knowshon Moreno with 1:56 left in the first half.

Orton's 27-yard scoring pass to Moreno early in the second half narrows the deficit to 38-14 before Marcel Reece, McFadden and Michael Bush contribute rushing touchdowns during the final seven minutes of the third quarter.

The Raiders set franchise records for most touchdowwns (8), most PATs (8) and most rushing touchdowns (5). McFadden ties a club record for most touchdowns in a game.

The 38 first-half points by Oakland ties for the second-most in franchise history. The Raiders scored 42 against the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 19, 1969 and 38 against the Houston Oilers on Nov. 14, 1971.

The 21 first-quarter points by Oakland ties the most in the opening quarter in franchise history. The Raiders last accomplished the feat against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 29, 2002.

THEY SAID IT:
"You love to go out there and have a big game and coming against a rival it’s even better.”

Raiders RB Darren McFadden

"We got our (butts) kicked, no question about it. There's nothing else to say."

Broncos QB Kyle Orton

"We whipped them physically (and) mentally. In the first quarter, they didn't want no more. For real. The offensive linemen, their eyes were like this (makes huge circles with his fingers). Big. I told (teammate Richard Seymour when it was 14-0) 'If we score one more time, they're going to quit.' And that's how it played out."

Raiders DT Tommy Kelly

“When you win a game, it’s like, ‘OK, we won, let’s go onto the next one.' Now, this one, it’s like, ‘We won and we won convincingly. Let’s let this build into a momentum swing for us.”’

Raiders CB Nnamdi Asmougha
