Broncos 31, Raiders 17

FLASH RECAP:
A big-play defense propels Denver to a lopsided victory over Oakland before an announced crowd of 62,779 fans at McAfee Coliseum on Nov. 13, 2005.

Jake Plummer throws for a touchdown and Mike Anderson runs for another to help the Broncos (7-2) win their third straight road game over the Raiders (3-6).

The Broncos defense has three interceptions (one is returned for a TD), four sacks and limits the Raiders to 60 rushing yards. Denver shuts out Oakland through the first three quarters.

The Raiders’ Kerry Collins, who hears boos from the frustrated Coliseum crowd, throws fourth-quarter TDs to Randy Moss (29 yards) and Doug Gabriel (14 yards).

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Denver
CB Darrent Williams — Returns a Kerry Collins interception 80 yards for a victory-clinching TD with 7:02 left, increasing Denver’s lead to 30-10. Williams’ 52-yard punt return in the second quarter sets up the Broncos’ first TD.
Broncos defense — The unit has four sacks, three interceptions and allows only 60 rushing yards.
QB Jake Plummer — Is 16-of-22 passing for 205 yards, one TD and no INTs.
K Jason Elam — Is 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and 3-for-3 on PATs.

Oakland
WR Randy Moss — Has a season-high 6 catches for 87 yards and a TD. Four of his receptions come in the fourth quarter after the Broncos build a 23-0 lead.
WR Doug Gabriel — Contributes 5 catches for 58 yards, including a 14-yard TD reception.
RB LaMont Jordan — Has a game-high 7 receptions for 60 yards but is held to 48 rushing yards on 14 carries.

GOAT:
Raiders QB Kerry Collins. Collins throws three interceptions, equaling his total for the season’s first eight games.

KEY STAT (S):
The Broncos build a 23-0 advantage through three quarters before the Raiders offense comes out of hibernation.

TURNING POINT:
Broncos CB Darrent Williams returns a Kerry Collins' interception 80 yards for a TD with 7:02 left. giving Denver a 30-10 lead.

BY THE NUMBERS:
0-6: Raiders’ record this season when LaMont Jordan has less than 20 rushing attempts. Jordan rushed 14 times for 48 yards against Denver.
1-13: Raiders’ record against the AFC West the past 14 games.

The Broncos have won their past three games against the Raiders in Oakland by a combined 84-28 score. The Broncos won 22-8 in 2003 and 31-3 in 2004.


Broncos QB Jake Plummer is 4-0 in career road starts against the Raiders. Jake "The Snake" is 3-0 with the Broncos against the Raiders and 1-0 with the Arizona Cardinals.
