Cardinals 17, Raiders 16

FLASH RECAP:
Linebacker Eric Johnson returns a deflected pass 35 yards for a touchdown with 9:04 remaining to help Arizona (3-0) beat Oakland (0-3) before an announced crowd of 36,408 at McAfee Coliseum on Aug. 26, 2005.

Johnson intercepts a Marques Tuiasosopo pass after the ball bounces off the hands of tight end John Paul Foschi. Johnson, who played for the Raiders from 2000 to 2003, has a clear path to the end zone as the Cardinals erase a 16-11 defict.

The Raiders take the ensuing kickoff and drive to the Arizona 23 before Sebastian Janikowski is wide right on a 41-yard field goal attempt with 3:11 to play.

Oakland builds a 16-11 lead on Randy Moss' 40-yard TD catch and three Janikowski field goals. For the Cardinals, Kurt Warner throws a 22-yard TD pass to Aaron Golliday and Neil Rackers kicks a 20-yard field goal.

The Arizona defense has four sacks, a safety and two interceptions. The Oakland defense has three sacks, an interception and holds Arizona to 202 total yards.

Raiders receiver Ronald Curry plays for the first time since rupturing his left Achilles tendon against Kansas City on Dec. 5, 2005. Curry has three catches for 24 yards, but he drops a a long pass from Collins at the 5-yard line in the first quarter.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Arizona
OLB Eric Johnson -- Returns a Marques Tuiasosopo interception 35 yards for the go-ahead TD with 9:04 remaining.
TE Aaron Golliday -- Catches a 22-yard TD pass from Kurt Warner late in the first half.
DE Chike Okeafor -- Forces a Kerry Collins fumble that bounces out of the end zone for a safety on the first play of the second quarter.

Oakland
WR Randy Moss -- Makes his first trip to the end zone as a Raider on a 40-yard TD catch in the second quarter. Moss hauls in Kerry Collins' pass a good 10 yards in front of Arizona CB David Macklin.
QB Kerry Collins -- Completes 17 of 25 passes for 189 yards in a little over a half, but also fumbles three times against the Cardinals pass rush.
OLB Grant Irons -- His third-quarter interception sets up a 38-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski.

KEY STAT:
The Cardinals sack Kerry Collins four times and force three Collins fumbles.

BY THE NUMBERS:
2: Raiders dropped passes in the end zone by WR Randy Moss and TE Courtney Anderson.
3: Fumbles by Raiders QB Kerry Collins. A fourth Collins fumble is overturned by the officials and ruled an incomplete pass.
22: Combined penalties by Arizona (13 for 100 yards) and Oakland (9 for 62).

DID YOU KNOW?:
The Raiders open an exhibition season with three losses for the first time since 1992, when the then-L.A. Raiders went 1-4. The 1989 Raiders had a franchise-worst 0-4 preseason record.
