Raiders 35, Chargers 27

FLASH RECAP:
Michael Bush's 3-yard touchdown run puts Oakland ahead with 3:39 remaining and Tyvon Branch returns a Philip Rivers fumble 64 yards for a score with 58 seconds left to elevate the Raiders over visiting San Diego on Oct. 10, 2010.

Oakland (2-3) snaps a 13-game losing streak against the rival Chargers (2-3) before an announced crowd of 48,279 at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

Rivers throws for 431 yards and two touchdowns for San Diego, which drops its third road game in the season's first five weeks.

The Chargers outgain the Raiders, 506 to 279 in total yards, but they surrender two touchdowns on a blocked punt and the second of two Rivers’ fumbles.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Oakland
QB Jason Campbell — Is 13-of 18 passing for 159 yards and a touchdown and a 117.6 efficiency rating after replacing an ineffective and injured (sprained right shoulder) Bruce Gradkowski early in the second quarter.

TE Zach Miller — Has 6 catches for 62 yards and a TD. His 1-yard scoring catch late in the third quarter narrows the San Diego lead to 24-22.

S Michael Huff — Contributes a sack, forced fumble and nine solo tackles. A blitzing Huff forces a Rivers fumble, which is picked up by teammate Branch and returned 64 yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

San Diego
QB Philip Rivers — Throws for 431 yards and two TDs, but his two lost fumbles at the Oakland 14 and 36 help decide the outcome.

WR Malcolm Floyd — Has a career-high 213 receiving yards on 8 catches and a TD.

TE Antonio Gates — Has 5 catches for 92 yards and a TD.

KEY STATS:
The Raiders block two punts in a game for the first time since Nov. 21, 1976, when they accomplished the feat against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite surrendering 506 total yards, the Raiders defense has three sacks and recovers three Chargers fumbles
The Chargers’ Antonio Gates has a touchdown catch for the ninth straight game, an NFL record for tight ends.

THEY SAID IT:
"It definitely meant a lot, just seeing the guys on the sideline, how hard they were fighting. The one thing I said was, ‘You didn’t give up.’ And guys said maybe in years past they would have tucked it in, but this time they didn’t."

Raiders QB Jason Campbell

"We definitely played down to their level. We lost the game. We ain’t supposed to lose this game. This is a game we all thought we were going to win. We didn’t. You have to take your hats off to the Raiders."

Chargers LB Stephen Cooper

"I knew I had to beat the one on one. I had to beat (Darren) Sproles. I did that and just got a hand up and luckily I hit his arm. Once I saw Tyvon running I knew he wasn’t going to get caught, so I started celebrating."

Raiders S Michael HUff
