Chiefs 34, Raiders 20

Dec. 6, 2015
O.co Coliseum
Oakland, CA

STAR OF THE GAME
The Kansas City defense has three interceptions against Derek Carr during the fourth quarter as the surging Chiefs (7-5) rally to beat Oakland (5-7) for their sixth straight victory. Trailing 20-14, Kansas City scores 20 unanswered points after interceptions by linebacker Josh Mauga, cornerback Marcus Peters and former Raiders safety Tyvon Branch, who seals victory with a 38-yard pick-six with 3:14 remaining.

KEY STATS
The Raiders' Derek Carr has a season-low 68.3 passer rating on 31 of 48 passing for 283 yards and two TDs with three INTs.
The Chiefs' Alex Smith extends his streak without an interception to 305 consecutive passes — third longest in NFL history. Only Bernie Kosar (308 games) and Tom Brady (358) have longer streaks.
Kansas City sacks Derek Carr four times; the Raiders allowed only 14 sacks the season's first 11 games.
Oakland linerbacker Khalil Mack has two sacks for the second straight game, giving him nine this season.
The teams combine to miss three PATs during the second half. Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski hits the upright on an extra point try late in the third quarter, ending a streak of 225 straight PATs. Kansas City then botches two extra point trys when holder Dustin Colquitt has trouble getting the ball down after the snap and kicker Cairo Santos misses another. Janikowski also misse a 49-yard field-goal attempt.

THEY SAID IT
“I’m pretty ticked off, especially on how some of them happened. I get pretty upset. Those things will happen. It just (stinks) that it happened all back to back like that.”

Raiders QB Derek Carr

“They had opportunities in the fourth quarter. We just capitalized on some mistakes and made really nice plays. The Tyvon play was just a ridiculous catch and run. It ended up being the difference though. Our defense made the plays and we were able to capitalize on it.”

Chiefs QB Alex Smith

BY THE NUMBERS
2: Kansas City lost fumbles during the first half, ending the Chiefs' streak of five straight games without a turnover.

DID YOU KNOW?
Safety Tyvon Branch, who sealed Kansas City's victory with a 38-yard interception return for a score against Oakland late in the fourth quarter, spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Raiders. The former Connecticut star was selected by Oakland in the fourth round of the 2008 draft. He was released in March after two injury plagued seasons.
The Chiefs improve to 10-3 their past 13 games against the Raiders at O.co Coliseum.
