Colts 35, Raiders 14

FLASH RECAP:
Peyton Manning throws for three first-half touchdowns and Edgerrin James rushes for 136 yards and a TD to lead the host Colts (4-1) to a lopsided victory over Oakland (2-3) before an announced crowd of 57,230 at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Three Kerry Collins interceptions and nine penalties for 59 yards doom the Raiders to their 12th straight road loss. Oakland commits penalties on Indy's four offensive touchdown drives.

The Raiders score a touchown in each half on a Justin Fargas 1-yard run and a Courtney Johnson 21-yard reception. Oakland has a season-low 269 total yards against an Indy defense that enters the game ranked last in the league in total yards and passing yards.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Indianapolis
Colts defense - The unit surrenders 269 yards, 120 fewer than it allowed in the season's previous four games. Indy forces three interceptions and sacks Kerry Collins four times.
RB Edgerrin James - Rushes for 136 yards on 32 carries and one TD.
QB Peyton Manning - Throws for a season-low 198 yards, but who's complaining if you're a Colts fan? Manning easily dissects Oakland's overmatched defense as he completes 16 of 26 passes to seven receivers.
CB Jason David - Seals victory by returning a Kerry Collins interception 34 yards for a touchdown.
DE Robert Mathis - Contributes two of Indy's four sacks, a forced fumble and four tackles.

Oakland
WR Ronald Curry - Has a game-high 10 catches for 72 yards.
RB Amos Zereoue - Contributes 7 catches for 53 yards and 41 rushing yards, but his 56-yard TD run on the third play of the second half is nullified by a holding penalty. Ouch!
TE Courtney Johnson - The rookie from San Jose State scores his first NFL touchdown on a 21-yard reception in the fourth quarter.

GOAT:
Raiders coach Norv Turner. Oakland self-destructs with three interceptions and nine penalties. As head coach of the team, it's Turner's responsibility to instill discipline and focus - both of which are solely lacking against the Colts - with the Raiders players.

KEY STAT:
Four Raiders penalties revive Colts touchdown drives. Talk about playing stupid. The Raiders have a face-mask penalty (on Teyo Johnson) on the game's opening kickoff; an offside penalty (Akbar Gbaja-Biamila) on fourth-and-one; a holding penalty (Frank Middleton) that wipes out a 56-yard TD run by Amos Zereoue and three violations in the end zone (twice for holding and once for pass interference).

BY THE NUMBERS:
6: Kerry Collins interceptions in two games as Oakland's starting quarterback.
12: Consecutive Raiders road losses.
35: 100-yard rushing performances for Indy's Edgerrin James in 70 career games.
65: Oakland points allowed the past two road games.

THEY SAID IT:
"It's frustrating to lose, period. We're just not seeming to go in the right direction at this point. We're making way too many mistakes along with (giving up) too many plays. That's killing us."

Raiders CB Charles Woodson

"Being the Raiders is tough. I notice that we don't get too many calls."

Raiders FS Ray Buchanan

DID YOU KNOW?:
In the first half of the past three Colts home games, Peyton Manning has thrown 12 TD passes - three against Oakland, five against Green Bay and four against Denver (2003 playoffs).
