THEY SAID IT:
"I got in the flow of things and made some plays. For the first time out, I think I did pretty good."

Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell

"I thought he was very aggressive with the ball, made good decisions. That's what I'm talking about with him. When he plays the game at a fast enough speed, it allows him to be on time, and he showed that tonight."

Raiders coach Tom Cable
on QB JaMarcus Russell

Raiders defensive end Greg Ellis spent 11 seasons with the Cowboys before being released in June 2009. On the game's first offensive play, the 6-foot-6 Ellis knocks down a Tony Romo pass.

Ellis tells reporters after Oakland's victory: "It was a blessing for me to get in there and make a play, the first play of the game. (It was) good for us to win. Like coach said, we have a lot of work to do, but it was good fun."

The Raiders improve to 17-9 against the Cowboys in their exhibition series, which began in 1972. The visiting Cowboys won the previous meeting, 21-20, on Aug. 21, 2004.
