Raiders 19, Cowboys 13

FLASH RECAP:
Sebastien Janikowski kicks four field goals and Oakland's defense thwarts Dallas on a goal-line stand in the waning minutes as the Raiders hold off the visiting Cowboys before an announced crowd of 62,400 at McAfee Coliseum on Oct. 2, 2005.

With the victory, Oakland avoids its first 0-4 start since 1992.

With Oakland (1-3) leading 19-13, Drew Bledsoe drives Dallas (2-2) 77 yards to the Raiders' 3. After Julius Jones is tackled by Tommy Kelly for a 2-yard loss on second-and-2 from the 3, Bledsoe throws successive incompletions to Keyshawn Johnson and Terry Glenn.

After the Raiders take possession at the 5-yard line with 1:45 left, LaMont Jordan gets 12 yards on consecutive running plays for a first down before Kerry Collins takes two kneel-downs to run out the clock.

For the Raiders, Janikowski shakes off an early season slump with field goals of 30, 23, 49 and 43 yards. Jordan finishes with 126 rushing yards on 26 carries (both career highs) and a TD. Oakland enters the game ranked 31nd in the league in rushing offense (averaging 61.7 yards per game).

For the Cowboys, Jose Cortez hits field goals of 29 and 30 yards and Bledsoe throws a 63-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Crayton.

The Raiders are victorious despite having 13 penalties for 85 yards and scoring only one touchdown on five possessions inside the Cowboys' 32-yard line.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Oakland
K Sebastien Janikowski — Is 4-for-4 on field goal attempts and has four touchbacks on six kickoffs. Janikowski’s only flaw is a third-quarter kickoff that goes out of bounds, setting up Dallas’ second scoring drive at its 40.
RB LaMont Jordan — Rushes for a career-high 126 yards on 26 carries and a TD. His 34 rushing yards on 7 seven carries during the fourth quarter helps set up two field goals and a key first down as the Raiders run out the clock.
DT Tommy Kelly — Tackles Dallas RB Julius Jones for a 2-yard loss on second-and-2 from the Oakland 3 with 1:53 remaining.
DE Derrick Burgess — Has two of the Raiders’ four sacks on Drew Bledsoe.

Dallas
WR Patrick Crayton — Scores the Cowboys’ only TD on a 63-yard catch 6 minutes into fourth quarter, his lone reception of the game.
WR Terry Glenn — His 57-yard catch to the Oakland 26 on third-and-17 sets up a potential game-winning TD and PAT.
CB Terence Newman — Saves a first-quarter TD by tackling Raiders WR Randy Moss at the Dallas 7 after Moss’ 79-yard catch and run. Oakland settles for a field goal.
DE Kenyon Coleman — Former Raider has one of three Dallas sacks.
