Raiders 27, Vikings 21

FLASH RECAP:
Carson Palmer throws for a touchdown and runs for another to help penalty-prone Oakland to a victory over Minnesota before an announced crowd of 62,748 at Mall of America Field on Nov. 20, 2011.

Leading 27-7, the Raiders (6-4) surrender two fourth-quarter touchdowns. With the Vikings (2-8) driving for a potential go-ahead score, Raiders saftey Tyvon Branch breaks up a Christian Ponder pass on fourth down near midfield with 1:52 remaining. The Vikings force a Raiders punt before Ponder completes an 8-yard pass to the Minnesota 31 on the game's final play.

The Raiders commit 12 penalties for 117 yards. Raiders coach Hue Jackson tells reporters after Oakland's second straight win that he thought some of the calls were "unfair."

Raiders wide receiver Darrius-Heyward Bey suffers an undetermined neck injury during the fourth quarter as he is being tackled after a reception. Bey is immobilized, placed on a body board and carted off the field. He reportedly later is cleared to fly home with the team. Bey has four catches for 43 yards before being injured.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS:

Oakland
QB Carson Palmer — Is 17 of 23 passing for 164 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.

RB Michael Bush — Has a 109 rushing yards on 30 carries and two catches for 20 yards. His fourth-quarter fumble leads to a Vikings TD.

DT Tommy Kelly — Has two of Oakland's five sacks and makes his first career interception.

OT Jared Veldheer — Wins his mano-on-mano matchup with Vikings defensive end Jared Allen, who has no sacks and only two tackles. Allen enters the game leading the NFL with 1q3.5 sacks.

Minnesota
QB Christian Ponder — Is 19 of 33 passing for 211 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions. He also has a team-high 71 rushing yards on five carries. Two of Ponder's interceptions stop drives inside the Oakland 22-yard line.

RB Percy Harvin — Has 76 receiving yards on six catches and a TD.

RB Adrian Peterson — Has 26 rushing yards on six carries and a TD before being sidelined by an ankle sprain during the second period.

KEY STATS:
Trailing 7-3, the Raiders score three second-quarter touchdowns to build a 24-7 lead at halftime.


With 109 rushing yards on 30 carries, Oakland's Michael Bush becomes the first player to rush for 100 or more yards against the Vikings. The Vikings have allowed only seven 100-yard rushers since 2006.
The Raiders fail to score any points in the fourth quarter for the fifth straight game. They last scored in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans on Oct. 9.

“I know everyone says we’re the most-penalized team in football and that’s a fact, and I’m not running from that. But there’s no way, some things that happened today on that football field, I question. I just do, and I have to, and I’m going to defend my team. It’s time that I do that.”

BY THE NUMBERS:
4: Oakland sacks allowed. The Raiders enter the game with only 11 sacks allowed (second fewest in the NFL this season.
14: Oakland points surrendered during the fourth quarter after building a 27-7 lead.
162: Raiders rushing yards on 41 carries, including 109 yards by Michael Bush. The Vikings enter the game ranked sixth in the league in rush defense (93.9 yards per game).

DID YOU KNOW?:
With the victory, Oakland improves to 4-3 against the Vikings in Minneapolis. The Raiders lead the series 10-4, including 1-0 postseason.


With the loss, the Vikings fall to 2-8 for the first time since 1962.
